Rose gold is the colour of the moment, with the on trend rose gold watch inspiring make-up products in the striking shade. I love wearing rose gold make-up and it’s quickly become my favourite go to beauty look. It’s pretty, striking but not overly dramatic and offers a more natural summer alternative to the coveted smoky eye. It’s also a beautiful and unique look for the summer months and one that will look stunning teamed with your favourite hot weather dress. Here’s how I created a look that’s perfect for summer occasions:
For my summer rose gold make-up look I used these products:
Rose gold makeup is all about the eyes and the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette offers the perfect shades for the look. There’s many dupes of this palette around, but personally I think the original is the best! Starting your look with your eye make-up means you can get rid of any eye shadow fallout when your apply your base.
Start with applying a primer for your eyelids to make your eyeshadow last longer. I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion. Then using the eyeshadow in ‘Dust’ from the Naked 3 palette, apply it with a soft brush all over the eyelid and take it just above your eyelid crease.
Line your waterline with a dark brown eyeliner like the Urban Decay Naked 24/7 Double Ended Eye Pencil in the ‘Darkside’ shade. Take the liner just below the lash line.
Lastly, blend the shade ‘Factory’ with a blending brush in the outer corners of your eyes and then blend it slightly into the crease. Add lashings of your favourite mascara to your upper and bottom lashes.
Now it’s time to apply your primer (I used the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser) and then your base using your favourite foundation brush. I used the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush . I’m using a Garnier BB cream in ‘medium’ to keep the look fresh and not too heavy for the summer months. Then use a concealer like the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to hide any blemishes.
Blend a bronzer like the Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder into the hollows of your cheeks and then blend blush into your cheekbones until the blush looks like a natural pop of colour. Sleek make this beautiful rose gold blush for under £5 to add a sweeping shimmer to your cheeks.
Lightly define your eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil. I used the Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Black Brown.
Complete the look with a shimmery pink lipgloss. I love using the Benefit Ultrashines Lip Shine in Nookie Nookie.
